New manual available: Promoting Due Diligence through ICT Procurement
The Circular and Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact is pleased to launch its latest manual for public buyers: “Promoting Due Diligence through ICT Procurement”. This manual was developed by KU Leuven as part of Community of Practice on transparency and due diligence (2023 – 2024), facilitated for CFIT.
The manual, developed by Boris Verbrugge, provides not only background information on the topic but more importantly, practical suggestions for public organizations at different maturity levels, whether organizations are just starting out, or looking to strengthen their approaches to human rights due diligence and related contract management.
Marieke Weerdesteijn, Programme Manager of the CFIT Pact states:
“I hope procuring organizations will use this guidance to help drive and strengthen effective sustainability due diligence in the international ICT supply chains of the products they procure. This guidance can help ensure that preventing and mitigating human rights risks remains a high priority in the ICT sector.”
The Community of Practice and this manual were made possible through additonal funding towards the CFIT Pact of the Belgian Federal Institute of Sustainable Development and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
