Belgian Federal Public Service Policy and Support (BOSA) becomes a procuring participant of CFIT

About BOSA

BOSA supports Belgian federal organisations and policy-makers across five core areas: working in and for the civil service, simplification and digital administration, budgeting and accounting, public procurement, and strategic support. It combines policy coordination with operational services, working both upstream on policy development and downstream by providing practical tools, frameworks and services for federal organisations.

Strengthening sustainable public procurement

Through the Federal Procurement Office (FORCMS), part of the Directorate-General Federal Accountant and Procurement, BOSA manages framework agreements covering a wide range of products and services, from ICT equipment such as laptops and smartphones to office supplies, hospitalisation insurance, and fuel and electric charging cards. These framework agreements are used by federal public services and other public organisations participating in the federal procurement policy.

The federal procurement policy aims to harmonise purchasing processes, increase efficiency through cooperation between administrations, improve access to public contracts for small and medium-sized enterprises, and strengthen sustainability and social responsibility in public procurement.

Participation in CFIT supports BOSA's ambition to advance socially responsible procurement on behalf of the Belgian federal administration and aligns with its existing commitments, including its membership of Electronics Watch and its signature of the Sustainable IT Charter.

Through collaboration with other procuring participants and by integrating the CFIT criteria into its tenders, BOSA aims to further strengthen the sustainability, responsibility and circularity of its ICT procurement.
